On monday morning George Stephanopoulos announced on Good Morning America that he has tested positive for the coronavirus or COVID-19.
The ABC News anchor said that his wife, author and comedian Ali Wentworth also tested positive for COVID-19 about two weeks ago, which makes sense why he himself would also contract the virus.
Currently Stephanopoulos is asymptomatic.
“I actually feel great,” he said. “I’ve never had a fever, never had cough, never had shortness of breath, never had chills, any of the classic symptoms you’ve been reading about.”
He says the virus hit his wife a bit differently and she claims that in the beginning of the month she had neve been sicker as she suffered from a very high fever, terrible body aches, and the common heavy chest.
“This is pure misery” she wrote on Instagram at the peak of her sickness.
Again, Stephanopoulos, said it was “no surprise” that he also tested positive for coronavirus. While Wentworth self-isolated in a separate room of their home, Stephanopoulos has been her caregiver.
The couple also has two teenage daughters and we have no word on them yet.
